Venture Richmond Events, in partnership with the National Council for the Traditional Arts (NCTA), the Virginia Folklife Program and the Children’s Museum will present new musical performances that are exclusive to this festival, highlights of favorite artists from past festivals, cooking demonstrations, a crafts marketplace and an official festival poster! The show will go on—a virtual event celebrating the roots, richness, and variety of American culture.

15th Anniversary Festival Continues History of Artistic Excellence
August 27, 2019 , RICHMOND, Va. - Venture Richmond today announced 12 additional artists who will perform at the 15th Annual Richmond Folk Festival on the weekend of October 11-13, 2019.
“To celebrate such a special anniversary, we wanted to create a truly memorable October weekend, inviting back some artists who were here in the early years but also introducing cultural traditions that may be new to our attendees,” Venture Richmond CEO Lisa Sims said. “And I simply cannot talk about this milestone anniversary without noting the passionate support of our sponsors, individual donors, volunteers, and attendees. We simply could not have grown this event, or sustained it for over a decade, if any one of those groups had not been with us, without fail. It is an accomplishment we are excited to share with them.”
RICHMOND, VA - Richmond Folk Festival and Spacebomb Records today announce the release of the first single from a special compilation album celebrating the 15th anniversary of the Richmond Folk Festival. The record, titled “All Together Now”: 15 Years of the Richmond Folk Festival Live, includes select tracks recorded live over the years since the National Folk Festival first came to Richmond in 2005.

This year’s program includes a spectacular group of diverse musicians and dancers from around the world; six of these artists carry on cultural traditions that have never been featured at the festival before. In addition to previously announced artists, including gospel, soul, and rhythm and blues icon Mavis Staples and award-winning Irish musician Jarlath Henderson, New Orleans bounce music pioneer Ricky B will perform, as will Chinese wind and percussion masters, the Zhou Family Band, rising jazz star Brianna Thomas, and many more.
