Celebrate 15 years of folk in Richmond!
Save the date for the Richmond Folk Festival – October 11-13, 2019
In 2005, the National Folk Festival kicked off its 67th year on downtown Richmond's riverfront. After three years, The Richmond Folk Festival began carrying on the same traditions and continues to this day. The Folk Festival's programming, then and now, embraces the heritage and traditions of all Americans, from those whose families have been here for centuries to those of the most recent immigrants.
As a Folk Fest Insider, you’ve probably gathered lots of wonderful memories over the years. Whether you remember bouncing to Chuck Brown or being entranced by the Tuvan throat-singing of Alash, our ideas about “folk” music have grown as we’ve each been introduced to traditions new to us.
So mark your calendars, consider volunteering (registration opens up late May) and make sure when the time comes you make a drop in the bucket so the festival can continue for another 15!
